Frequently Asked Questions

What is your approach to working with the body?

My approach is grounded in gentle movement, breath, awareness, energetic and frequency understanding. Rather than forcing change, I listen to the body and support it in finding more ease, clarity, and balance through a variety of tools and methods.

Is this yoga or physical therapy?

Not exactly. While movement may be part of the work, this isn’t a traditional yoga class or a physical therapy session. There are no poses to achieve or protocols to follow. Everything is responsive to your body in the moment. We work with the physical body in order to understand what’s underlying your pain, tension or limited mobility.

Do I need to be flexible or experienced?

No. This work is accessible to all bodies and meets you where you are. Many people come because movement has felt painful, confusing, or intimidating in the past, or, they don’t know how or where to begin to shift their pain and medical or western methods haven’t worked.

Can this help with pain or tension?

Most people experience reduced pain, increased range of motion, and a greater sense of ease. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we explore how the body is organizing itself and support more efficient, comfortable movement patterns. Most people experience pain and tension release immediately - that something has shifted for the better. This is what we build on to create lasting and permanent shifts.

Is this emotional or spiritual work?

It can be (it often is), but it doesn’t have to be. Usually, emotional or energetic shifts naturally arise as the body settles and starts to be heard. These are approached gently and without interpretation or pressure, but always an invitation for you to go deeper if you wish, with my guidance. I find that the most profound shifts happen when we address what’s underlying the pain - which are often emotional and spiritual.

What does a session feel like?

People often describe feeling calmer, more grounded, and more connected to their body. Shifts are often subtle but meaningful — a sense of “something changing” rather than something dramatic. And, shifts can happen that are absolutely dramatic and noticeable. In a session, we work with physical movements, and also look at breath, awareness and energy.

How do I know if this work is right for me?

If you’re curious, open, and interested in listening to your body rather than pushing it, this work is likely a good fit. If you’ve ‘tried everything', this work is likely a good fit. If you have no idea who might be able to help you and don’t even know what next steps to take, this work is likely a good fit. If you’re truly ready to change your situation for good, this work is likely a good fit. If you’re open to the ‘woo-woo’, this work is likely a good fit. And often, curiosity is enough.
